Pro To Go

Pro To Go

One of the hardest things about maintaining a healthy diet is to do it whilst balancing a busy lifestyle. Most people are okay at planning their meals to eat at home or even their lunch to take to work. It's not so easy to eat healthily when meetings over-run, you're stuck late at work or your kids spring a last minute DT project on you that takes all evening to create. The temptation then is to do what's easy and quickest. If you live or work in a big town or City you can get fast food delivered to your door within half an hour. However, there are only so many all-nighters you can put in fuelled by pizza and bottles of rola cola (this might just be a northern thing but I mean the cheap cola which tastes like thick syrup).

I strongly believe that you get out what you put in. Treat yourself properly and give yourself the best fuel to perform and not surprisingly the output will be better. A couple of weeks ago I discovered Pro to Go, meals packed full of protein to properly fuel City workers. Even better they also taste delicious!

With health being the new wealth and every business wanting in, it can be difficult to properly see whether a product/meal is actually good for you. Branding now can be a little bit sneaky (for my views on this, check out my post last week) as companies promote products as being healthy but they're actually packed with fillers or sugar replacements and often taste pretty bland. Luckily there are amazing small businesses popping up like Pro To Go to ensure that people get tasty, wholesome food easily.

If I had to sum up the Pro To Go meals in just one word it would be "incredible". If you want fun food which is tasty then I would definitely recommend giving their meals a try. Plus for those of you who are super keen, all of the meals are provided with their macronutrient content so you can easily keep track. I can't go into the detail of every meal on this post because it would get way too long so I'll just give you my top three. (Although I have to admit it was really hard to only choose three). Check out the full menu here.

Top Three Meals

  1. Brock & Roll Salmon: delicious salmon and high protein broccoli mash. The salmon was really succulent and the mash was so yummy I seriously didn't want it to end. I'd probably go as far as to say it's the best mash I've ever had. What was really good about this meal was the portion size.  The salmon was a really good sized fillet and in addition to the mash it was also accompanied by roasted cherry tomatoes.
  2. Chicken Nuggets and Mushy Peas - this tasted so decadent and like a real treat but it was also nutritious and delicious. It was served with fresh broccoli stems and a small helping of the amazing broccoli mash, proving that healthy food does not have to be boring. Again, there was a really good portion size and for anyone who needs it the nuggets are gluten free.
  3. Lemon Cheesecake Pot - wow! Utterly delicious and so tasty. The perfect afternoon pick-me-up or evening treat. If you have a sweet tooth you have to give this a try. It is a tasty twist on an old classic. A smooth, rich and delicious top with a puffed rice base.

If you live or work in London you can get Pro To Go delivered to your door via Caterwings. Make sure you're following Pro To Go on social media for the details of their next pop-up and keep an eye on the fridges of the top London gyms as you'll soon see them there too.

This post was in collaboration with Pro To Go, a new company which I would love you to try to because they reflect my passion to show people that healthy eating doesn't have to be boring. I feel very lucky that they fuelled me for a week with such tasty wholesome food. The content and the context of this post is my own work, contains my own views and has not been pre-read or edited.
